Schmicko understand that not all boats that we work on are the same size, shape and more importantly of identical condition. For this reason, we do have a range of packages to select from, however the most important piece of information we need prior to our service is the condition of the boat currently. This allows us to determine the amount of workmanship, hours, overall complexity and products essential to completing the job effectively.
Gel Coat Restoration allows our boat detailing technician to apply a full-fledged detail to the exterior of the boat, with a heavy focus on the gel-coat. Most often boats fade and oxidise over time and under the harsh exposure to environmental contaminants and conditions such as UV Rays, Bird Droppings, Salt Salinity and so on. These forms of contamination over time cause a significant beating, giving rise to a very dull and flat looking paintwork. It starts to lose the showroom glossy and shiny appeal, which can often give off a discoloured finish. This is where this package is ideally used, an excellent option for bringing the life back to the colour work and then sealing it in with a nice wax/sealant. The key feature here, lies within the advanced correction techniques involved with the Multi-Stage Compound and Polish using a Machine Buffer, along with any physical abrasive wet-sanding procedures for deep blemishes.
Not all boats require a gel-coat restoration. For those with well maintained boats and simply looking for a maintenance boat wash on a more routine basis, then the maintenance wash may be the boat cleaning procedure you are looking for.
Boat owners are welcome to add-on to the packages such as:
- Gel Coat Protection: Nanotechnology Ceramic Coatings
- Barnacle Removal
- Cleaning Boat Bilges
- Engine Room Cleaning
- Teak Deck Restoration
- Anti-Fouling Application – boat must be parked out of the water
