Regassing alone may not eliminate bad odors emanating from the AC system. Foul smells can be caused by mold, bacteria, or other contaminants in the evaporator core or air ducts. In such cases, a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the AC system may be necessary to eliminate the odor.
