Schmicko is aussie slang for when something looks really clean and crisp. In a sense that is what we represent and deliver with every wash and detail.

Yes we do take same day bookings, but it ultimately depends on whether we have any detailers available since we are often fully booked days in advance. Nonetheless, feel free to call us so that we can check our schedule for you.

If you’d like to get in touch us, here are some options.

  • Email admin@schmicko.com.au
  • Phone
  • Live Chat (bottom right hand corner)

We operate 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm. If you require custom hours, please give us a call as we may be able to arrange.

Our detailers sure can, we are a mobile service meaning we come to you equipped with the right tools!
All that we need is an access to point to an outdoor tap and powerpoint within 15m to operate our detailing equipment.

Work, home or out and about, we can make it happen. To see which areas we service, check out ‘Serviced Locations’

Washing your car regularly and detailing your vehicle goes a long distance towards maintaining that “new car” feel and look.

Both services will certainly maintain your vehicle.  However, a detailing will cater to the intricate needs of your vehicle.  We do recommend detailing your car every couple of months to keep it in top shape.

Once you have detailed your car it makes it much easier to maintain the cleanliness with subsequent regular washes.

Ultimately the difference between a car wash and car detail comes down to time and effort. As the name suggests, car detailing requires a greater attention to detail and this can often mean extra tools/equipment, higher grade products and the use of more product.

Whether you are in need of a car detail or a car wash will depend on your expectations and what you need completed. If you are looking for a regular wash to maintain your vehicle then a car wash may be best for you. If you are looking to resell your vehicle for maximal value, a car detail would be a great cost-effective way to do so. Although this does not mean that detailing is only for people looking to sell, but for those looking to restore their pride and joy.

For more information on whether you need a car wash or car detail – see our blog post.

In summary, a polish is designed to remove minor surface blemishes through paint correction, whereas a wax is intended for adding slight shine, but mainly a protective coating with no correction whatsoever.

It is common practice to have wax applied on top of a surface that has just been polished/corrected. By applying wax, you are adding an additional layer of protection that will help preserve any work being performed on the vehicle.

If you want to maintain the value of your vehicle and reduce wear and tear, a regular maintenance wash is highly recommended on a routine basis (weekly/fortnightly). But every so often, a detail is required, similar to how you have minor and major services for your vehicle.

For detailing, it is best practice to have your vehicle detailed at least a few times a year i.e every couple of months or so. There are many environmental pollutants that if left unattended can really cause permanent damage to your car’s paint. Frankly speaking, not many of these pollutants (bird droppings, dirt, tree sap, road grime etc) can be completely removed with a regular wash. Included in our Platinum Wash is our Polishing Step, which acts like an exfoliating step for your painted surface to rid of these blemishes and restore that new-car shine.

However of course, whether you need a car detail or wash will depend on many factors such as how often you drive, where you drive, where you park, who you travel with (pets, kids etc) and so on.

If you are unsure as to how often you should have your car washed or detailed, have a read of our article.

We certainly do. Many of our customers have their cars washed on a regular fortnightly basis and often opt for an upgrade to a car detail every few months as needed.

Choosing a recurring plan also allows you to receive 15% off the original price. In selecting a recurring plan, your bookings will be secured for every following fortnight at the same time and billed the day after the service.

To choose a recurring plan, you can simply choose ‘fortnightly’ under the ‘How Often’ section of the booking form. Otherwise, feel free to contact us on 1300 218 312.

Clay bar (aka Cleaning Clay) is a non-abrasive resin mixture forming a Plasticine-like block. Similar to a block of clay, it is used with lubrication such as detailing spray, which is then glided across your car surface by hand. Clay barring is mandatory step prior to any polishing to ensure that the surface is free of contamination(dirt, bugs, road tar, grime and etc).

Using a clay bar will improve the car surface’s finish and feel by collecting pollutants in which a regular car wash cannot. Over time, these airborne pollutants build up and begin to eat in to your paint if left unattended, so clay barring every so often is recommended.

Read more about Clay Bar Paint Decontamination/Treatment in our recent article.

We offer Headlight Restoration as an additional cost. Which allows us to restores some of the clarity back to your headlights. A great cost-effective way to fix your headlights without replacing them for hundreds and at times, thousands of dollars.

It really depends on how deep in to the clear coat the scratch has etched in to. We cannot guarantee that all scratches will be removed, but we can treat them with a machine polish to minimise the damage and enhance the paintwork.
